PyVT: A python-based open-source software for visualization and graphic analysis of fluid dynamics datasets

We developed a Python-based open-source software for scientific visualization of fluid dynamics datasets. This is enabled by the VTK graphic rendering library and equipped with an interactive user interface built upon PyQt5. The concept “scene module” proposed to construct rendered scene analysis. In context dynamics, module defined associating manifested geometry, such as cut plane, iso-surface, set streamlines vector field, visual attributes, including scalar, colormap, opacity. framework, each processed one single pipeline, number modules can be simultaneously multivariate Beyond built-in functionality, additional implementation efforts are taken enhance annotating capability, improve display coordinate axes, load input data various formats. Two case studies presented demonstrate capability PyVT, especially dynamic datasets that typically possess complex interdependent flow physics.
